Currently Studying

Currently: studying biology and apologetics at the same time... hoping i have enough time to gather good information at a sufficient rate to refute all of the bad science. but with a secular TEXTBOOK THAT CONTRADICTS ITSELF, it's not too hard.

Update

Much has happened since I last updated this blog.

(I copied over several of just my most recent discipleship-related posts from my other blog, which you can see below.)

I am quite sure that no one ever reads this blog. However, I have a lot that I feel I need to write and put on here.

So what has changed:

Instead of being male, 19, and single I am now male, almost 21, and ENGAGED!
The idea of getting to write a bunch of stuff about relationships (as you can see from one of my first posts)... well, that opportunity has come and gone and I've missed it. I think it would be unwise to write stuff online about my fiancee/wife that she doesn't know about.

Anyhow, I may possibly be posting more information on here in the upcoming weeks, most specifically about apologetics.

Bye for now.

Miracle Mercy

I read this awesome passage of scripture about a week and half ago in my quiet time, and it has really been sticking with me and impacting me. Just read this, and dwell on God's marvelous love and miracle mercy for the children He loves!!!

Psalms 107:10-16 (From the Message)

Some of you were locked in a dark cell, cruelly confined behind bars,
Punished for defying God's word, for turning your back on the High God's
counsel--
A hard sentence, and your hearts so heavy, and not a soul in sight
to help.
Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you
out in the nick of time.
He led you out of your dark, dark cell, broke open
the jail and led you out.
So thank God for his marvelous love, for his
miracle mercy to the children he loves;
He shatterd the heavy jailhouse
doors, he snapped the prison bars like matchsticks!

We need to live EVERY DAY like we are the children HE loves, the objects of His miracle mercy! That should change the way we look at every day, no matter how bad work sucks, no matter how poor we are, no matter how hard life is... we are the children he loves!

Live today like you are that child.

You gotta want it!

Jesus' amazing love has the power to transform our lives... But only if we let Him. Friends, we must allow Jesus to do his work in our hearts and lives; we need to WANT to change before change will take place. Nothing will happen without the desire. Find the desire to let Jesus do the work that only He can. As Jim said, ''your desire (to change) must be greater than your disability.'' Don't wait around to find that desire... Go out and get it now!

Practice makes Perfect

Practice makes perfect. How many times has your mom or your coach told you that? But it is so true: the more you practice something, the better you get at it. This holds true across a vast spectrum of activities. If you practice mountain biking all the time, you are going to end up riding farther, faster, and more skillfully than you have ever done. If you practice studying at school, you are going to get really good grades. If you practice being diligent at work, you are going to be a hardworker, and people are going to notice.

Conversely, if you practice sitting in front of the TV every night, you are going to get fat. If you practice putting off your homework enough, it won't get done. If you call in sick to work all the time, your boss is going to have a very bad opinion of you.

In the most important realm of our lives, however, this rule: "Practice makes perfect" still applies. If you practice praying your guts out and seeking God's will, your heart is going to be transformed to mirror His will! But if you practice putting other things in front of God, distracting yourself with the things of this world (entertainment, sports, etc), you will wind up being very good at straying far from God.

People, this is the issue: practice following Jesus, and you will get good at it! Practice wandering away, and you will get good at that too.
