Notes from [youth group]

What does it take to go to heaven?
How do I know?
I want to know Jesus!
What if I prayed when God lost his hearing?
-book of life
....have eternal life
CLEAR
-Luke 18:18-30
-Rich ruler
-Q: How do I really know I'm saved?
-Jesus calls him out
-commandments
"I've done that!"
-had it in his mind, not his heart
-"still lack one thing"
-sell everything
-make it impact your life
-move it from your head to your heart
What is the most important thing in your life?
Jesus said: "make me your #1"
-something more than a prayer
-more than not going to hell
-Is he your life?
-Jesus dominated him.
-Peter you are IN!

Q: How do you know when Jesus is #1 in your life? What signs are there, what clues, what is the evidence?

[Youth Group]

It's crazy when the kids speak truth to you as much as you speak truth to them!

[Youth group] rocked!

We rocked it tonight at [youth group]!!! Worship was AWESOME, and small group discussion was great!

Totally killed it!

Sweet chorus:

"There is none so high and holy,
King of Kings,
the one and only
You are adored,
You are the Lord of all!!!"

so i've been meaning to write an update about how awesome youth group was on weds night and i guess i'm texting one in. Th@e kids all came back from camp and got up in front and took turns sharing about what God did in their lives and they were so awesomely genuinely on fire@! They came together as a group so much! I want to always chase Jesus with the passion that those kids exhibited on weds night. It was truly awesome to @behold! God is definitely doing work!@

Currently Reading

Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry
by Doug Fields

Great book by a very gifted man, very thought provoking and insightful. I have been studying through it with a great guy who has been doing youth ministry for over 14 years, and it has started great conversation!

A sad thing

It is a sad thing if members of a church make a petty matter into something big enough to make a youth pastor think of resigning....
.....especially if said youth pastor was not in the wrong.

That is all I know. But it is a sad thing.
